Our Curriculum

Chabad Glen Eira Creche aims to teach and stimulate a love of learning. Jewish values, customs and traditions are seamlessly merged into a general curriculum based on the guidelines of the NQS and VEYLDF.

Educators create learning environments where children feel safe and nurtured; where they can explore their world, are encouraged to make choices, and are respected for their individuality. Children are seen as capable, able learners. Our programs aim to facilitate and support their learning, development and awe of the world around them. Our curriculum emerges with a combination of the children’s interests and intentional teaching.

Our curriculum is built on the practice principles and outcomes of the VEYLDF – “All children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for life”.

Our curriculum and practices respects the three premises of the framework which are:

Belonging – to my family, friends and the community; this concept shapes who children are and who they can become

Being – a time to be, to seek and make meaning of the world

Becoming – children’s identities, knowledge, understandings, capacities, skills and relationships change as children learn and grow and allow children to fully participate in society

All our educators are qualified with a certificate III or a diploma in early childhood education and care. They are also trained in first Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis management.

Extra –Curricular activities

Themes focus around the Jewish calendar, Shabbat, Tefilla (prayers) and Brachot (blessings for food) are sung daily. Children love participating in morning prayers and in the weekly Shabbat party and Challah Baking.
