Chabad Glen Eira Creche aims to teach and stimulate a love of learning. Jewish values, customs and traditions are seamlessly merged into a general curriculum based on the guidelines of the NQS and EYLF.
Educators create learning environments where children feel safe and nurtured; where they can explore their world, are encouraged to make choices, and are respected for their individuality. Children are seen as capable, able learners. Our programs aim to facilitate and support their learning, development and awe of the world around them. Our curriculum emerges with a combination of the children’s interests and intentional teaching.
Our curriculum is built on the practice principles and outcomes of the EYLF – “All children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for life”.
Belonging – to my family, friends and the community; this concept shapes who children are and who they can become
Being – a time to be, to seek and make meaning of the world
Becoming – children’s identities, knowledge, understandings, capacities, skills and relationships change as children learn and grow and allow children to fully participate in society
All our educators are qualified with a certificate III or a diploma in early childhood education and care. They are also trained in first Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis management.
Extra –Curricular activities
Our Centre teaches and promotes a love of Judaism and Jewish values in conjunction with a general curriculum. The culture and customs are taught through song, story, art and drama. Themes focus around the Jewish calendar, Shabbat, Tefilla (prayers) and Brachot (blessings for food) are sung daily. Children love participating in morning prayers and in the weekly Shabbat party and Challah Baking.
The Hebrew language is taught and integrated into the program. Our many Hebrew speaking teachers are encourage to use the language throughout the day so children become familiar with it.
To further enrich and enhance our program, we also have weekly Music & Movement sessions and weekly Sports sessions by outside teachers, as well as birthday parties.

Our youngest room is where educators nurture and support children through their developmental journey as capable learners. We work with warmth and care to establish a strong foundation for all future learning and success.
The orange room is greatly inspired by the teaching ways of (Howard Gardner’s ‘Multiple Intelligences’) all children learn at different rates, in different ways and at different times. Each child can, at their own pace, develop independence, self-identity, and an ability to safely question the world around them.
We provide a flexible play-based learning environment and believe this is the most effective way for children to learn and make sense of their world. This means that you will see a variety of experiences that facilitate their learning.
“ I love meeting the children, bonding with them, nurturing and educating them. I am so lucky to be surrounded by an amazing team of educators at Chabad Glen Eira, all of whom are so special and each bring to the room their own ideas and experience.”
Karen – Room Leader
We in the Blue room feel we are uniquely placed to help children move from the foundations of Belonging where they feel accepted, to Being where each child develops an awareness of their social and cultural heritage and place in the world.
By the end of the year, we leave our children to start their next journey to Becoming.
Each child learns at a different rate and in a different way (Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences). As a result, we are committed to accommodate each child to develop a strong feeling of being safe, secure, and supported, greater independence, become stronger in their social emotional well-being (strong emphasis on supporting each child’s understanding of emotional regulation and control), and to become an effective communicator.
We value family input and together we will ensure that each child is supported in their development to become competent, capable and Inspired Learners.
“ I love working with children and their families at Chabad Glen Eira. I have a background in social work and I am always looking for ways to further my understanding of children and their development”

We loved being at GEC for the 3rd time! I thought my daughter would never settle but she did and she matured so much. It is the only place where she’ll try new food and love it! Thanks for another great year.

We believe that all children are competent and capable learners. All children learn at different rates, in different ways and different times (Howard Gardner’s ‘Multiple Intelligences’). Each child can at their own pace, develop independence, self-identity, and an ability to safely question the world around them.
Our curriculum is play-based, it is guided by children’s ideas, interests, and strengthens. Every year we create a curriculum, that is about the children and integrates families input. Through experimentation and active discovery our room transforms throughout the year. Our projects revolve around children’s interests, and our relationship with one another strengthens as we grow.
We consider the “Green Room – Inspired Learners” a foundation for setting your child up for success at the start of their formal educational journey.
“I am constantly looking for innovative ways to educate children and enhance their potential. My planning and work at Chabad Glen Eira always reflects and is lead by the children’s strengths, abilities and interests.”
